Rims technology good enough for a ferrari race car

The Formula 1 Season started this weekend and among the controversial technological advances were the Ferrari's rims.

Rule changes have made all the teams remove the the spats all the teams had on their wheels to increase airflow and cool the brakes. While all the other teams seems to have just taken them off and figured they would have to deal with it Ferrari decided to add some extra parts to the rim to make for the loss. Here is an article detailing it.

When you look at the rims of the Cutlass Ciera you will notice that the holes are lifted up and angled out to get the same effect that the add pieces to the Ferrari rims do.

Sure the Ferrari rims are for more elaborate and fancier, but that is what you get for 21 years of extra development and millions of dollars to design it. Ours came stock on the car and can be had at junkyards for $35.

5 points for Safety

Thanks to Eric and Martha we have a 5 point racing harness which fits nicely in our budget.(meaning free)

Of course after seeing how sweet it looks in the car I sort of want to steal it for my own car. Think duct tape would be good enough to install it or should I use Super Glue.

What to do with an old LeMon

So you've raced your car, it survived, or atleast is still mostly in one piece. What next for your race car?

Why put it in Music Videos

You making a music video, what would you rather have a Bugatti Veyron or a beat up Escort.

We are still here sort of...

Well its been a month since anything has been posted here. In that time an issue arose that made it so we couldn't attempt to get into American irony. We are still hoping to race in October though.

So to not just make this entry a downer I will add the Cutlass Ciera commercial from 1995. 1995 was the second to last year of the Cutlass Ciera and the last year it would have Cutlass still attached to the name. By this time I'm sure it was known that a replacement was on the way. So with the final year having the weight savings of removing the Cutlass part of the badges what would they do for 1995. Why add a wicked guitar solo to the car.

I mean with a car as amazing and solid as the cutlass ciera had been what more could you really add to it.

An Edsel, A Jaguar V12 Engine and a Roll Cage

Yesterday Bob and I drove down to Blue Island meet the team that is putting a Jaguar V12 in an Edsel, and to talk to one of the guys about what it would cost to have him build our Cage.
We spent about 3 hours talking about all sorts of racing, and looking at the very long V12 engine.
We did also get a estimate on a Roll Cage.
