lots of pictures

I put up the first batch of pictures from Lemons South Spring 2009. I'll put up the rest once I get my new upload Quota. So for those that weren't there you'll have to wait until then until you find out how the Mustang looked in the end. Either that or you do a google search for 24 hours of Lemons Peoples Curse.

Also here is the link to my LeMons South 2008 Photos

Dreams and Ads

So I had a dream that we found a $500 Celebrity with a turbo charger, and we were about to buy it when some one stole it.

Also we now have ads so help us by supporting our advertisers.

New rule change

This just in from Chief Perpetrator Jay Lamm

In a perfect world, you wouldn't need to tell guys not to point their exhaust at their gas tank. I mean, I'd have thought that was right up there with "no shoulder harnesses made of piano wire" and "no one-handed skeet shooting while driving." But as further evidence (if any was needed) that LeMons teams can concoct bad ideas faster than we can devise prohibitions, some E30 lads managed just that in Carolina, with impressively boomy results.

Thus, I give you the two newest items in LeMons' Official Rulebook, Rules 3.24 and 3.25, both effective immediately. In a nutshell, 3.24 says your exhaust shouldn't fall the hell off or boil the gas in your tank; 3.25 says bring a floor jack to tech, because we wanna see if you read 3.24. They're currently listed in red on the Rules page.

Note one-handed skeet shooting while driving still legal, so be sure to continue working on your aim.

Art Work & Car Theme Designe

So I'v been playing around with Photoshop and tried to make a poster like the ones Bob got from the South Carolina Race.

Here is my poster

Also I was playing around with the Northern Aggression theme.

Here it is on a car layout

always when we postpone getting started

Every time we decide we have to push back our timeline a bunch of interesting automotive possibilities pop up. So far this week I've seen a 1978 Subaru brat with a bunch of spare parts, a 66 pontiac bonniville, a handful of cutlas cierras a buick century, and a diesel volkwagon rabit pickup. There were a handful of other intersting options too that I can't remeber off hand. I know there will be other cars when we do finalize the team and get to the point that we shop for a car but we probably won't find an old brat.

Dangerous Banned Racing Tech: Counter Balance System

Last week Pete was trying to figure out a way to do an active suspension system. While such a system is great and is all the rage with the high end sports car companies, to develop one takes lots of money and lots of really smart people, and we don't have either.

So I started to think of a different way to get the same affect without an active suspension. I started thinking of the center of mass. On MythBusters they were trying to see if having people stand on one side of a bus if it would keep it from rolling. Of course the problem with loading on side with weight is that it would help when turning one way but hurt if you turn the other way. So you would need a way to shift the weight according to which direction you were turning so the weight would stay on the inside of the turn to try and combat the body roll caused by turning. So this is what I came up with

There is a pulley system connecting the weight to the steering wheel. As the wheel turns the weight will be pulled one direction or the other pulling the weight on the inside changing the center of gravity of the vehicle adding the weight were you most need it for each turn.
